According to local reports the next two editions of the Champions League Final Six tournaments are awarded to Budapest, as was decided this weekend during an organisational meeting by the LEN Bureau in Glasgow, Scotland. This and last year's edition of the Champions League finale are staged in Barcelona. The Hungarian Federation are expected to take the 2016 edition to the famous Alfred Hajos stadium at Margaret Island, which was also the site of the 2014 European Championships, while the 2017 edition could be plannend to serve as inaugural event in the newly build sports complex (pictured) for the 2021 FINA World Championships, also hosted by the Hungarian capital. The club to be assigned as host of the event, and therewith automatically qualified, is yet to be announced, although out of the current top 3 of the Hungarian league only OSC is situated in the nation's capital.
