RVL: Big win for Primorje

With the tense Belgrade derby between Red Star and Partizan yet to be played on Sunday the highlight of the round 16 in the regional league saw rivals Jug and Primorje squarring off in Dubrovnik for the top spot in the champions group. And thanks to a solid 2nd half performance the vistors from Rijeka got away with a big 8-12 win and took over the leading position in the group. Veteran Damir Buric (pictured) experienced a nice scoring game netting 4 shots to lead the balanced Primorje offence which also saw Petar Muslim hitting thrice while Cosmin Radu and Sandro Sukno added 2 each. Two more interesting games were played in the champions group this Saturday as Mladost survived Jadran in Herceg Novi 10-12 to also gain valuable points while Radnicki knocked off Mornar 9-13, led by 3 goals each from Srdjan Vuksanovic and Marko Petkovic. Elsewhere, POSK held Vojvodina to an 8-all draw in Novi Sad with returned Canadian international Jared McElroy (2) and Scott Robinson contributing on the offensive end. Budva got away with a win Kotor against Primorac 8-10 as Nikola Murisic led the charge for the visitors scoring 3 goals against his former team.
