With the European Super Cup matches to take place in two weeks time, the Catalan swimming federation Thursday announced that in 24 hours all 1,500 available tickets to see the games were sold out. For the first time one location will host both the women's and men's European Super Cup battle on the same night, being Friday November 21. The fans in the Sant Jordi Pool in Barcelona will see the Sabadell women, dominant winners of last year's Champions Cup facing a strenghtened Olympiacos side. The reigning LEN Trophy champions signed both Alexandra Asimaki and Robert Bianconi this summer and are expected to become one of Sabadell's main rivals on the European stage this season. The women's contest is followed by the local heroes of Barceloneta, Champions League victors, taking on Russian Euro Cup champions Spartak Volgograd, quite surprisingly already eliminated from European matches this year in the qualification stage of the Champions League after finishing last in group A in round 2 in Hannover, Germany.
The Catalan Federation however also confirmed to still review all request they have received.
